The Fuji Film Frontier-S DX100

DX100 - loading

The Fuji Film Frontier-S DX100 could well be the ideal printer for wedding and event photographers. It can print up to 360  6×4 prints  per hour in a standard mode with 720 x 720 dpi or in a high quality mode which offers 1440 x 720 dpi and a wide variety of sizes which in turn increase sales potential.

Panoramics are also available with this machine handy for both landscape and group school photographs. The DX10 features a small footprint for convenient placement in many scenarios and is thus easy to transport and will fit nicely into a boot of a car for location work and moving from shoot to shoot.

With a one roll paper feeder the machine can handle lustre, glossy, Fine art Matt and Silk papers. Fuji have incorporated  the newly developed 6 coloured unique dye inks “VIVIDIA” for beautiful reproductions.
This ink system uses  6-inks to offer enhanced granularity and gradation, producing remarkable improvements in medium density areas such as skin tones, blue skies, grey backgrounds.

What Fuji have created here is a powerhouse and a reliable work horse combined and should be considered by anyone looking to increase options to clients and be on top of their printing.

Fotospeed’s competitive and comprehensive range of papers is headed up by their recently launched Signature Paper Range, which brings together five of the world’s leading photographers with four of their most popular and award winning fine art inkjet papers.

These are:

  • Smooth Cotton 300 – Joe Cornish
  • Natural Soft Textured Bright White 315 – Trevor and Faye Yerbury
  • Platinum Baryta 300 – John Swannell
  • Platinum Etching 285 – Charlie Waite

Their panoramic and square paper formats are also available in a range of their unique finishes, which provide medium format users with a cost effective solution to having to cut larger sheets of paper. Their square paper gives Instagram users the chance to easily print their images, and is available in three finishes, in 8×8 or 12×12 inch sizes. The panoramic paper comes in at 210 x 594mm.

Monochrome photographers in particular might be interested in their 100% acid-free fine art paper Platinum Baryta 300, whilst for colour photography their Smooth Cotton 300, a 100% cotton, pH neutral, fine art paper with an ultra-smooth surface, is ideal for highly saturated images.

A browse through the company’s website will show you there is a paper for every type of photography.

Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD.

Tamron has launched the 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD, a new ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for APS-C DSLR cameras+-.

This new wide-angle zoom lens covers an exceptionally large range in what the company say is the largest focal length range in its class (Among ultra-wide-angle zoom lenses for APS-C DSLR cameras the 35mm equivalent is semi wide angle 16mm to 37mm.

The lens is ideal for street photography, landscapes, group photos and casual everyday scenes. The optional TAP-in Console provides a USB connection to your personal computer, enabling you to easily update your lens’s firmware as well as customize features including fine adjustments to the AF and VC.

It also has Tamron’s most advanced technologies, including the VC (Vibration Compensation) system, Moisture-Resistant Construction and Fluorine Coating, and the first implementation of Tamron’s new HLD (High/Low Torque Modulated Drive Motor).

The front surface of the lens element is coated with a protective fluorine compound that is water- and oil-repellent. The lens surface is easier to wipe clean and is less at risk from the likes of dirt, dust, moisture and fingerprints and thus enables much easier maintenance. For greater protection when shooting outdoors, leak-proof seals throughout the lens barrel help protect your gear.

This lens comes in Canon and Nikon mounts only.  Retail £580
