Travel Insurance Advice for Egypt
Advice updated 9th November 2015
With the situation in South Sinai developing rapidly and the latest update in relation to the downed aircraft suggesting that a bomb was placed on board as being "highly likely", Insurers are not keen to write policies for Egypt and tend to be following the Foreign & Commonwealth Office advice.
Our Insurers at Lloyds, have agreed to continue writing travel policies for Egypt, including through Sharm-El-Sheik Airport at an increased rate to balance the elevated risk.
Whilst we are no longer offering quotations through our website, they will be available by calling our main office on 01837 658880 Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and giving all the details to one of our team.
Insurers rate risks on a traffic light system. Please find the latest update below. We offer terms on ALLthe following places subject to underwriting criteria:
- Turkey (non coastal resorts)
- Central African Republic
- Democratic Republic of Congo
- West Bank & Gaza
- Ivory Coast
- South Sudan
- Sierra Leone
In relation to Egypt, ALL travellers are advised to ensure that any travel policy in force covers them for outward travel.
