As you are VAT registered, please make sure to enter the sums insured for any equipment to be covered EXCLUDING VAT. As you can claim back your VAT at the time of purchase you are not able to insure for any VAT applicable to the item in the event of a loss.
As you are not VAT registered, please make sure to enter the sums insured for any equipment to be covered INCLUDING the VAT applied at the time of purchase.
As you are VAT registered on a flat rate scheme, we recommend that you insure your equipment INCLUDING VAT. This will ensure that in the event of a claim there is no issue with underinsurance due to the VAT applicable to items below the flat rate scheme threshold. For more information about the flat rate threshold, please go to https://www.gov.uk/vat-flat-rate-scheme/overview.
